Breaking Dawn Quickie

If you don't already know, I am a Twilight geek.  I don't think I ever did post my thoughts after seeing the Breaking Dawn movie, did I?  In short, I liked it more than the book.  The wedding scene was my favorite part and it sort of caught me off guard, the impact of the music and how that whole scene was done.  I was crying, of course.  No, I was near sobbing.  LOL . . . I am a dork, indeed.

So now, as the release of the DVD approaches, I'd been seeing that places like Target and Walmart are having 'release parties' in their stores, and of course the wedding is the main theme of it all.  Apparently there will be a special edition with all kinds wedding extras.  If I didn't have to work tomorrow I would have considered going to one of these parties.  I did the midnight craziness with a couple of the Harry Potter books and it was fun.  But no, I'm old now and working 12hr shifts takes its toll on an old person.

Anyway, as I was shopping at Walmart this morning I happened to be over in the games/electronics area and what did I see?
 (Crappy picture from my phone.)

Yep, this cute little wedding display next to a large screen TV playing Twilight series movies, and a big display of all those DVDs . . . and a blank area on the shelves where Breaking Dawn will go tonight.  I don't know if you can read what is on the large 'invitation' but it says . . .
Isabella Maria Swan
and
Edward Anthony Mason Cullen
Together at Walmart
request the honor of your presence
at the release of Breaking Dawn

and trivia starting at 10pm

There are candles and rose hearts, a wedding cake, a bridal bouquet on this table.  Just to the right, out of the picture, was the big TV and hanging on the corner was a bridal veil.  In front was a long red rug, like walking down a red carpeted aisle.  I was soooo wishing I had my camera!  It was so funny and cute.  I would have taken more crappy phone pics but as soon as I took this one a Walmart lady swooped in on me with "Is there something we can help you with?" in her impatient tone.

Ah well, I won't be there for the festivities tonight.  I probably won't even get the DVD until next week Tuesday because that's my next day off.  Can't wait to see the wedding scene again!!

Leaving you with this beautiful song from the movie . . .

  1. Bah, I wish the movie had affected me like it did you, but oh well.

That's awesome about that display :D When we went to see Immortals, the theater had little flyers inviting people to Breaking Dawn, kind of wedding-invitation-style wording--I thought that was cool. (They were official printed things from the movie theater chain, not, like, specific to that theater.)

  2. It didn't really affect me. I just loved the wedding scene, the music mainly . . . the way it was all done.

I don't even remember many details about the movie, just that I loved the wedding and Bella looked horrific in the end. (I recently found out they used a 'doll' for those scenes.)

I bought the DVD many days after it came out, and still haven't watched it. I didn't get the super fancy one with the wedding dress packaging.

  3. Well, I mean even that. My eyes were dry.

A doll? Wild. I figured all of it was CGI.

Ha--I didn't know there was one with wedding dress packaging.

  4. I saw a clip from Breaking Dawn, Part 2 and I'm kinda sorta maybe getting a bit excited to see Bella as a vampire now. LOL

The clip was something with Edward talking to Bella about how amazing it is that they're together now and have a family, or something along those lines. I let my mind wander back over the whole story and left out the sap and it made me kinda weepy to think about it. Well, it is still sap and that's what made me weepy but . . . whatever.

I remember loving the descriptions of their first hunt together, etc.
