Walmart / Better Homes & Gardens Fall Tarts (Again)

While shopping yesterday, I was so happy to see Walmart had restocked the fall tarts that I practically ran down the aisle like a crazy lady.  They had restocked, yeah, but not as fully as I'd hoped.  I didn't see any Warm Autumn Welcome, but I did grab the last two A Thankful Harvest.  There were still plenty of the S'mores one, and the fruitier ones, a bunch of the Warm Baking Spice, and candied apple, and the shortbread one, and one lonely Evergreen Forest.  But I only got the harvest ones.

There is never a scent description with these Better Homes & Garden tarts.  The picture shows those little gourd-looking pumpkins and not much else, and the wax is orange, so you'd assume it's probably a pumpkin scent, right?  And sure enough, it smells like pumpkin.  On cold throw, there is a teeny tiny bit of spice, and perhaps a smidge of creaminess, but there is also something fresh about it.  This one is not quite like the typical pumpkin pie or pumpkin spice scents.  It's not that heavy and warm.  I think this one might be closer to plain pumpkin, for those who are looking for a clean pumpkin patch or jack-o-lantern scent.

It will be interesting to smell this one warm.  When I sniff the pack from the top of the bar, it smells much brighter and fresh, but when I take the bar out and sniff the bottom I get those hints of spice and warmth.

Can't wait to melt this one!  And I have extras to share!  :)

  1. Thanks for posting this one. I just might have to pick this one up from Walmart on my next trip. Bath & Body Works is not bringing back their pumpkin patch candle. I really, really like that one so this might actually be the next best thing. I love the picture on the package!

  2. Hopefully you can find it. I'm hearing things are pretty well picked over everywhere and this seems to be one of the popular ones. I wish we could order these online, like from a sister-site to the Scentsationals one.

I'm having crap luck with tarts again. Seems like the Walmart ones are my only sure bets lately. *grrr*

  3. Hey ! I love your blog, I've been reading it for over 2 hours. I was just wondering what kind of warmer you used for tarts ? And if you knew any inexpensive ones I could get online ? Thanks a lot !

  4. Hello!

I use tea light style warmers, and have two inexpensive ones that I picked up for less than $5 each at Walmart and Kmart. They are simple white ceramic ones.

Seems most people prefer the electric styles though, whether it be the light bulb style or the hot plate style.

Amazon has tons of warmers of all styles for decent prices. I noticed the Walmart site only has the cheap ones like have available 'in store' and not for online order.

Do you already melt tarts or are you just looking to get started?

  5. Hey ! Thanks for all the info :)

I'm looking to get started, I happened to stumble upon your post this morning about Country Home Scents and for some reason, I couldn't help but order some. So now I need a warmer haha

  6. Awesome! Oh, you can order electric warmers right from the Country Home Scents site. You should have got one, hehe. But yeah, if you're out and about and have a Walmart nearby just look for the cheap (like $4.00 or so) white ceramic warmers. And grab a bag of tea light candles too, only about another $2.00.

Or if you want an electric style one, Walmart has many gorgeous looking ones to choose from for $15.

    Do you have a blog?

  8. I'm not familiar with the Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Patch scent. I've heard it's a fresh pumpkin scent and not a spicy, warm, bakery scent. If that's true, this one from BH&G might be close.

I don't mix scents either, so I guess I'm not help at all. :(
I wouldn't even know who to point you. Sorry!

If you find an answer, let me know because now I'm curious.

  10. Anyone remember that shopping game show called Supermarket Sweep, or something like that? I hope I don't look like those people! LOL!!!

  11. LOL!

This is also funny because I had just heard Supermarket Sweep mentioned on the radio either the day you wrote this comment or the day before. I hadn't thought of it in years, and then it popped up twice in one day or so.

  12. I loved that show. I remember living in the trailer and watching it almost every day while making supper. Even though it was so predictable after a while, everyone doing the same shopping pattern. lol

  13. Lol, kinda like everyone picking the same letters in the final round of Wheel of Fortune? To the point where now they give everyone those letters automatically.

  14. Yep! LOL

I wanna see some old school Wheel of Fortune, where you had to pick all your own damn letters and shop for your prizes.

  15. Yeah, I always think of the shopping for prizes thing, too! We pretty much never watch it, but when we stumble across it, I think of that. The roving camera circling all over the prize area while they chose (and took forever to choose), and the cheesy music playing in the background, and there were always, like, goofy statues of cats and other kinds of "art." Lol!!

  16. I wonder if we can find some old clips of that somewhere. I also wonder if that Game Show Network or whatever it is shows the old version of it. It's always hysterical to watch old Match Game and Family Feud, etc.

  17. I was thinking of looking for some on YouTube the other day! Lol!

I would love to see old Match Game--I never check to see if it's on Game Show Network. I should ...

I set the link to start at the prize part at 8:17--hopefully it works.

Also, this is pre-Vanna. Too funny! I didn't watch the whole thing, but what I saw was pretty amusing.

  19. Pat Sajak (sp?) was on already back in '82??? Geez, I'm ancient. I remember when Chuck Woolery (sp?!) was still the host. (He WAS the host, right?)

I only watched where the link started but man was that funny. Oooh, a $50 clam server! Awesome stuff.

  20. I do too! (Chuck Woolery)

    I know! (clam server) LOL
