Won - LUSH Goodies

Yep, I'm winning things again.  Hehe!  This time it is a couple of LUSH goodies and it is from a holiday giveaway that YouTuber 'popinfresh' was doing earlier this month.  I started watching her channel quite some time ago because of her book hauls and reviews.  Besides nice smelling wax things, I *love* books.  She also does some beauty things here and there, but it's the books that drew me to her channel.

So anyway, she had five little goodie bag prizes, each with different things, and we had to leave a comment about which bag we'd be interested in.  I was one of five winners and this is what my bag contained . . .

Sex Bomb - 'Scintillating jasmine, clary sage and ylang ylang are powerful aphrodisiacs that are known to relax you as they warm your heart, and other body parts too. Soya milk makes the water milky, softening your entire body as you enjoy a luxurious soak with our best-selling Bath Bomb.'

This thing is freakin' HUGE!  I admit, my experience with both LUSH and bath bombs is very limited.  Maybe they're all ginormous like this, I wouldn't know.  It's gorgeous though, all pink and purple and girlie.  There is a 'rose' in the middle.  Is that paper?  Is it something that will also dissolve?  I do not know.  And I'm not usually a floral fan but this is very nice, kinda sweet, perfume-y, girlie.

One thing I want to try getting into in the new year is trying some bath bombs and bubble bars.  I've just never been a bath lounger because our tub is small and because it always seems I have better things to be doing.  I've been finding though, that in the evenings these days I'm usually quite bored and end up going to bed out of crabbiness from that boredom.  Why not have a lovely soak in the tub if I'm not doing anything else anyway??  So yeah, this could be a fun new world for me.

This particular bath bomb seems so big though.  Help me out, LUSH pros . . . do I break this in half or something?  Or throw the whole dang thing in?

Mint Julips (mint-chocolate) Lip Scrub

This one was very interesting to me because I've never used a lip scrub before.  My lips have been so nasty this fall and winter.  I don't know what's going on.  Lip balms that used to be fine just don't seem to be working lately.  I've heard others talk about lip scrubs, sort of sloughing off the cracked and crappy skin to start over with a soft, even layer.  We'll see how it goes.  Maybe it will be an agonizing affair with the peppermint oil burning my face off and bring tears to my eyes, but damn, looking forward to those smooth, soft lips afterwards!

And that is my prize from the holiday giveaway.  Thank you so much, Lori ('popinfresh')!!  I'm looking forward to using these items, and looking forward to more of your book hauls and reviews in the new year!

  1. I've never tried Sex Bomb! I think a lot of people break the bombs in half but I'm too lazy. I just toss the whole thing in the tub. I have that Mint Julip scrub and I like the taste! The granules are huuuge though. I think a lot of people just lick it off their lips but I wash it off. Curious to see which you will do. ;)

    1. I used the scrub once and yeah, the granules were pretty harsh. I was like 'Aaaaaah, why do people do this???' I probably didn't do it right, or long enough. I'm afraid to do it again. LOL

Oh, and while it did unintentionally get a bit of a taste, I wiped the torturescrub off with a tissue.

    2. Uh oh. lol!

Maybe it's all a cruel practical joke.

      Uhhh ... oh my.

  2. I break 'em in half, they break pretty easily with a knife and some tapping. The first time I got one the salesperson broke it in half for me, I think I was the only person in the store so I got extra attention.

    1. I will try breaking it in half. Maybe I'll just bash it with a hammer while it's in the bag and use it as fizzy powder. hehe

  3. Congrats on your winnings! I have never been to Lush or gotten anything from there, so I am no help as far as cutting that thing up, LOL. Never heard of lip scrub, wow! It might be a good idea to wear it at night, that way you have less of a chance to wipe it off! :D

    1. Nah, I think it's meant to be a quick scrub scrub scrub, then remove and carry on with life. You need to work the sugar granules around to exfoliate the crappy skin.

The one time I've used it so far was not pleasant. LOL!

  4. Wow, way to go! You and Mom really ought to go gambling together ...

I hope you do start doing the bath lounging thing. When I do it, I read. I was just thinking the other day I ought to start doing it again. That bath bomb sounds awesome.

Lip scrub! I didn't know those existed! Too cool!

Funny that you're having loads of lip trouble this winter, because Mandy was just saying the other day that she's been chapstick-ing like crazy this winter.

"but damn, looking forward to those smooth, soft lips afterwards!" lol I hope you get to keep your face.

    Nice background again :)

    1. Jean ~ Yep, animated snow. I wish there were more flakes and they would fall a bit faster though.

pants ~ If Mom and I went gambling I would just be watching her win. My luck doesn't seem to transfer to things that matter. Heh.

As for bathtime, I know a lot of people read while soaking in the tub but I'd be too afraid of dropping the book or splashing on it or just having wet hands handling it.

I suppose I'll need to get candles for the bathroom now too?

    2. Bummer re: $

I keep a towel by the side of the tub for my hands. I have dropped a book before--doh. But I think it's only happened twice (and I used to read in there a lot years ago) and neither time was a complete submerge. Lol.

    3. Gah! The idea of dropping it at all terrifies me. I'll have to get a Kindle and put it in a ziploc bag for bathtime. LOL

  5. By the way I've been getting into lip balm possibly to fill the soap buying void & been liking Upstate Herb Works for this time of year. It's my somewhat local version of Mirasol Farm.

    1. Very cool.

As far as soap, I've been finding myself grabbing commercial body wash more and more lately. I might treat myself to some LUSH or Philosophy this year.

    2. By the way if you're still low on lip stuff I've been on a winning streak with lip balm giveaways, today I won a surprise pack of special edition Softlips and Chapsticks from the Lip Balm Wrangler, if you want 'em you they're yours.

    3. I saw that you won over there. Congratulations.

I'm ok on lip balms for now. If you'll never use them or just don't want those brands and want to get rid of them, sure I'll take them, but I'm not lacking or searching or anything.

Thanks for the offer either way! :)

  6. I'm looking forward to trying Haus of Gloi's bubble bars/bath bombs, although they are kinda small at an oz. so I hope they are tart-priced. They look edible and remind me of coconut macaroon cookies. :9

    1. Oh, I know! I've had my eye on those little buggers. They do look edible, like candy or cookie dough. I'm working when that release goes live though, probably be sold out by the time I get a chance to get to the site.

    2. Ok, if you're interested I'll try to get what you want in a separate order and email you the total when I'm done. I guess these days you are more mature and can wait for restocks but figured I'd offer!

    3. And thank you for offering! Some things even maturity can't wait for. I'll have to look over the list again and will email you.
