Had another training meeting at work today. This time it was to teach us how to teach other employees about food safety. It was a short class, only about two hours when they'd told us it would be four. I thought it was a waste of time because we really weren't taught anything. We had to do some little role playing exercises, one person pretending to train the other. Our two trainers (from corporate?) were nice enough but seemed very preoccupied. At one point, they were both typing away on their laptops, the two people doing the role playing had finished and we were sitting there silently for probably close to two minutes before either trainer noticed. And then what? The one just said, "Oh, okay start over from the beginning," and continued his laptop work. Okay, whatever. After the class a couple other people mentioned it all seemed rather pointless, we weren't told anything new, and we weren't taught any amazing new way to help to teach people. Again, whatever.
The rest of the day was busy so it went by pretty fast. Tomorrow I *should* only be working until 11am, and I am sooooo looking forward to the long weekend. Hopefully I can get back on track and get some things done!
Remember that tripod thing I mentioned recently? The one with the plants? The one that got knocked over by hubby's trailer? We had propped it back up that day but at some point more recently, probably during recent storms, it fell over and we hadn't noticed.
Look at all those purple flowers! There are more on the other side. Oh, how cool this would have looked if we hadn't hit it that day! The clematis plant is several years old now, getting more blooms and growing higher and thicker each year. And now they're just a pile on the ground. You can see that bush in the top photo, off to the right, the one that just showed up and grew like crazy last summer. One thing about this falling over like this is that the plant seems to have separated from the bush. It should be easier now get that invader out of there.
Alrighty, gotta go finish the last few pages of the Apollo (Percy Jackson) book I'm reading before bed.
How is your Friday looking? Do you get to start your holiday weekend early?
Any holiday plans?
