Band of Bloggers - August 2017 / Vol. 20

Pop quiz, hotshot: How well do you know your favourite Band of Bloggerette? Sure, we're all reasonably up to date on each other's interests, hobbies and the pretty, glittery things that make our hearts go pitter pat, but when it comes to the vitally important markers of a person's character - favourite band, desert island scent, fight stance in the zombie apocalypse - how well do we truly know our virtual neighbours? :) Let's delve into 10 deeply random questions and find out, shall we?
1. No really, zombie apocalypse survival strategy: Fight or flight?
Flight, because proper zombies are slow and stupid.  I don't like how zombies have evolved into fast, thinking, planning, banding together supermonsters.
2. You've been a bad, bad kitty and you have just one final meal coming your way. What's on your plate?
Rocky Rococo's sausage pizza with a side of their bread sticks and marinara sauce, and a big cold Mountain Dew.  Oh, and some chocolate....Hershey's bar with almonds is my current fave.
3. Aside from wax (or nail polish, or crafting supplies, or beauty products) what item do you have major multiples of?
Hmm, since you've taken wax and crafting supplies out of the equation I can't think of anything.  Dragons, maybe?  I have a lot of dragon figures, like stuffed animals, collectibles, toy figures.
4. You've just won the lottery. Before best friends you didn't even know you had begin to show up on your doorstep, what's the first thing you buy without even thinking twice?
A full set of Tombow markers for crafting!  Normally I would say pay off the house, but I can still do that after I have my markers.  LOL
5. Biggest celebrity crush? This can be anybody - an actress, a musician, a fictional character from a favourite movie, book or television show, or maybe even an historical figure.
Although I am King Ludwig II obsessed I don't think it's a crush.  His story is so sad and fascinating, but I don't think I have feelings of  'Oh, I want to marry him and save him.'
*thinking thinking thinking*
Maybe Edward Cullen, from the original Twilight book only.  He got kinda whiny and annoying as the series went on.
6. Flats or heels? Or are you running barefoot through life like some sort of hippie?
Sneakers are pretty much the only thing you will ever find on this blogger's feet.
7. Whether it was created through a customs order or simple pick-and-mix blending at home, what's the greatest scent blend you've ever stumbled upon?
I can't even answer this.  I'm not a custom blender or an at home mixologist.  I mean, there were a couple really nice ones way back in our Smelly Sisters Muffin Club days but even those weren't mine.  One was a borrowed blend idea of (Rosegirls) Peppermint/Watermelon Slush/Marshmallow Smoothie.  And the other was hubby's idea of (Rosegirls) Hot Apple Pie/Pecan Waffles/Pie Crust.

8. It's snack time! Are you reaching for the sweet or the salty?
More likely to be sweet, although I do love a good bag of salty chips too.
9. What's a personal style moment you'd never care to re-live?
No answer for this because I'm very bland and always have been.
10. You are going to live in a biodome beneath the sea for the next three years and have been allotted space for just ONE book (tiny dome!) What cherished book will keep you entertained for the next 1095 days?
My first thought was to say Twilight, but actually I think I'd rather have Embrace, by Jessica Shirvington.  Like Twilight, I absolutely LOVE this first book of the series, but then the following books all fall far short for me.

  1. Your pizza sounds yummy; I haven't tried that particular brand.
Those wax blends you mentioned sound wonderful!
I haven't heard of Embrace; will have to check it out.

    1. I had the same problem with the Embrace series that I did with the Twilight series. I *loved* the first book and was increasingly disappointed in each book after that. :(

  2. We must talk about this fascination with Twilight lol that was my jam in High School. I was truly obsessed there for awhile, it was bad. I probably read the dang books at least 3-4 times each except New Moon because that is the one book I chunked because I got so mad. The movies didn't even touch the books but of course that's normal.
Robert couldn't touch the Edward Cullen that was in my mind yet I feel they casted most of the other characters well.
Love your answer to the zombie apocalypse question because this is true, they are supposed to be slow and dumb yet in today's world they are taking us out in large crowds.

    1. I feel like I should clear up the word 'chunked', I didnt not throw away lol, i threw it across the room in mid read lol. But than ran across the room and continued reading. It probably only got two reads out of me.

    2. I read Twilight right before the movie came out, like a couple months maybe. I was immediately OBSESSED. Oh my gosh, everything about it was fabulous. Was there anything hotter than Bella and Edward's sexual tension?! LOL

I was disappointed in the rest of the series. I thought it just got more and more over the top, and the once powerful and dreamy Edward because spineless and whiny.

I still have not seen the final movie.

  3. Ooh I'd covet a complete set of markers though I probably wouldn't use them for their crafting purpose, just list writing or editing speech scripts, I'd find a way. Anti-Twilight here, but I better investigate this King Ludwig II dude you wax poetic about...

    1. I debated for a long time about whether or not I needed to invest in Copic markers. I mean, all the serious card makers have Copics! They intimidate me though, and I decided I'm still too noobish and inefficient to waste my money there.

Tombow dual brush pens are another uber popular choice, and more affordable, but a completely different kind of marker. When and if I eventually do splurge on markers, it will be on the Tombow sets.

I respect your anti-Twilight ways. My sister likes to ridicule it endlessly. *sigh*

Any quick summary you read of my boy Ludwig will just write him off as crazy. That's very unfair. His story is SO much more than what casual history shows.

    2. Oh, and don't watch the newer Ludwig II movie to try and get to know about him. That movie sucked and portrays him as a flaming loon right from the get-go.

  4. I share your distaste for the Olympic sprinter zombie on crack - when did they get so agile?

I also love your choice of first-buy lottery item, because it's realistic - something you've had your eye on. I said a splishy vacation, but I really think I'd just get online and order everything I've had my eye on for the last little while. It might *only* come out to a few hundred dollars, but that's a good start. ;)

    1. I do have the obvious priorities of paying off the house and practical things like that, but that's what everyone says. I went down the list to the first fun thing! lol

  5. These markers have piqued my curiosity. I must check them out. And Edward Cullen... le sigh... I had many of a splendid daydream revolving around him before the movie shot him to pieces. I so very much enjoyed reading that series way before it was about to be cinema-fied. Such a great series though it did get weird at the end. I also had a mini Emmet crush.

    1. Tombow are water based and much more affordable than the alcohol based Copics. The Tombow dual brush pens that I want are very 'juicy' and cover area quickly and easily. They're not hard tipped and 'dry' like some lesser markers can seem to be.

I liked Emmet too! Yeah, I was disappointed with the series after the first book. I'm not sure what I would have wanted to happen but it all just started to feel like a VC Andrews series, where everyone is perfect and rich.
