Nov. 4

Hubby went grocery shopping with me this morning.  Sometimes it's nice to have company, but usually when he goes we spend way more money.  And yeah, this week we spent WAY more money.  He's the type who just wants to buy a lot and fill up the freezer and cupboard.  I'm the type who plans out the week and sticks to a list.  Especially now when we're back in debt from the barn, and with Christmas creeping up.  Ugh.  But, oh well.

Casey was here a good part of the day, doing his laundry and playing video games.  We were catching up on drama and gossip.  It was fun.

I switched to making Christmas themed treat boxes today and gave up on the Thanksgiving ones.  I *might* still try to list the Thanksgiving ones I already have made but I'm much more concerned about getting the Christmas ones done and listed now.  Even Christmas cards have taken a back burner to the boxes and gift card envelopes.  And my craft order that I wasn't expecting till Monday showed up today, so that was exciting.  It was too gray and dreary to get any decent pics taken though.  I'll try to get those for Sunday's post.

Hubby worked in the barn most of the day.  His friend showed up about halfway through the day and they managed to get most of the interior painting done.  I'll try to include a pic or two of that in Sunday's post too.  It's not high quality painting, just a slathered on layer of white to try and brighten up the interior.  Still, the whole place is coming together.

We finally got caught up watching The Shannara Chronicles.  We were two weeks behind.  Anyone else watching that show?  We were surprised how much we enjoyed the first season, and we're enjoying this second season too, although there are a lot of things I don't remember about the first.  I would like to read the actual books at some point.

Today I am thankful for:
The renewed interest I have in my struggling crafting hobby.  Maybe cards are not my actual calling, but maybe other paper crafts are!  Maybe this surge of excitement will be brief, who knows, but for now it's lifted my spirits and I find I can't wait to get back to making more.

What are thankful for today?

  1. You are Kurth sound like Adam and I shopping. He always spends way more when I tag along with him. Poor guy. So I try to stay home or if it is me shopping I try to keep the budget tighter for his sake. I am glad your crafts are calling to you a bit. I was hoping you wouldn't lose interest. <3

    1. It's funny, the crafting problem I'm having at the moment is running out of supplies, instead of the usual running out of ambition. LOL! I'm really having fun doing the boxes and envelopes. Now I just hope they sell.
